Where to get refills for old style Anco blades?

I got caught in the rain today, and discovered that my wiper inserts were rotten. No problem just wheel into the parts store and get refills, right? Wrong! Everywhere I went had a black plastic generic wiper blade for sale, or a cut to fit thing that will not work with short 13" blades. I have the original Anco chrome wiper blades on my 66 Ford truck, and just want refills to fit them. They were very common when I was selling parts back in the 70"s and 80's. What are we doing for "traditional" wiper refills now?

I do hope you went to a local napa supplier. I got a pair for my 53 Dodge, the counter guy did have to do some part book searching, but they were right in the warehouse.

Try your local NAPA store. I was able to get wiper blades for my 1948 Plymouth there.

Ask for the ANCO catalog at your local parts house, the vintage application and sizes are listed in the back section.

I will check with NAPA this week. No luck anywhere else this week end. Looks like we are running into another obstacle in dealing with old style car stuff! I never thought about having to run black plastic **** on my cars for wipers! I just ***umed refills for the old Anco and Trico blades would be available forever....

Last time I needed to change my wipers, all I could find was complete ***emblies, so I just bought one 26" blade, took the rubber out, cut it in half and fitted it to my wipers.

I just use the rubber from new blades. Cut it down and make up a couple if you have the longgggg blade and short old ones.

  13. I get mine here in my garage.

When all else fails, try eBay. I got a rare pair off eBay last week.

Rain-X used to work great on my car until I put a visor on!
I always see tons of new blades at swap meets too.

i to have a old anco roll around box. i went to work one morning someone had thrown it in our dumpster. our cleanup guy saw, knew i would want it and drug it back out. it know sits in my garage with all of my specialtly type tools in it. timing lights, dwell meter things like that. that brings me to something else. my 16 year old son has finally taken a interest in cars. as i pull out old stuff like that he asks me i always wondered what that was
