just some of the stuff I have hanging around my garage at home maybe you would like it . The ford spinner hub caps I made from a 57 ford hubcap. thanks red
I always thought it was funny when you get a gear head in another gear heads garage they look like the snooty rich and famous going to and art show.they will sit and look at a rusty pile of junk hanging on the wall like it's a picasso
I bought some "junk" from a guy the other night and ended up hanging out at his place for an hour looking at the rest of his junk. He had a 30'x60' shop behind his house. He'd bought the place from a boat builder and it was still full of vintage outboards and boat stuff the guy had left behind in addition to his own stash of Ford flattie stuff and old Caddy projects. Pretty cool. Sorry for the thread hijack...thought I'd share my junk story since we were on the subject!
Scored this at a swap meet this weekend! Been looking for one for a while as it's referenced in an Unlce Tupelo song.
the difference between junk and antiques is that antiques are old, expensive and generly not usable, however junk is old and usually free and you can get a few years of good use out of it! (fuck it I never coulud spellt!)
"Junk" is worthless, "Junque" is priceless. John Travolta paraphrase from Wild Hogs: "Quit lookin' at my junk!"
Man,you gotta be young during the cold war there were literately thousands of them. When I was a kid we saw those signs everyday & everywhere we went,I've had the one that hung on the front entrance wall of the Calhoun Hotel for almost 40 years now.HRP
Well I hope you didn't break it broken junk is worth less that normal junk. Bluto, Still on this side of the grass, damn its good to hear from you. I have discovered that when I want to buy someone else's junk it is made of gold and when I want to sell mine it is made of lead. Ha, we had one of those when I was real little it had 6 months worth of food and water and blankets in it. It was just a closet in the basement/garage but it was built to Karnalrad (sp) specs. I remember asking my dad where you went to the bathroom and he just laughed and it became a closet. We also had one of the little helmets for everyone in the family all of them had the triangle painted on them. I wish I still had my little hemlet.
Yeah, I caught the tail end of 'em in the 80's as a kid. That's why when I heard the song I was like , "Hey, I remember those!" Sort of a relic of a relic for me
