New to the rodder world. Always been a 60's muscle car buff. Just bought a 1937 Plymouth business coupe. Totally stock and in pretty good shape for its age. Also recently scored a 1954 Chrysler industrial hemi for a powerplant. Car needs major improvements to the ch***is, steering, suspension, etc. I'm searching the forums to death to see what everyone else has done and gather some ideas. Thanks for posting what you do and letting me learn from you. Keep wrenchin !
Hi there, welcome aboard! I would cash in that stock coupe to someone who will leave it that way and buy a S-10 frame/roller, and fibergl*** coupe to put on top of it. You will come out cheaper, with less effort, AND not murder a cl***ic. Steve
Welcome from Savannah, GA. Lots of great people and great tech on this forum. Enjoy and Good Luck with your project.
Welcome from across the state line in South Carolina. A hemi is heavy, make sure you go for a strong suspension and large brakes. Research the forums for info on the Industrial Hemi, some say ok some say not. Use the stock frame with upgrades, don't try to put the body on a later frame. MOPARS all the way.
Thanks for the welcome. I still have'nt made up my mind on chopping up the coupe. A total stocker is neat but the draw of a 50's hot rod is so strong! Farmer12 you have a great build going and thanks for the all the work you've put into allowing us all to see and share in the build. Its giving me the bug bad!
It's just a great pleasure to be on this forum and be able to learn and share. Do you have any pics of your car and engine? Welcome to the Hamb once again!
Welcome from just down the road at Rockmart GA. Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford send friendly horn honks.. Do you know my friend Vern Miller, lives at Rockmart now but lived in Rome area for a lot of years. Vern is an old hot rodder from back when Model A's were just cheap used cars.
I don't know Mr. Miller, but who knows, I'm awful with names. I'm trying to get some pics and put them up so that you guys can see my project. Thanks for the welcome!
