Event Coverage some pics from Ol' Marais River Run

  1. I wnt to car show yesterday and it was hoot and half. I had a great time, we hed great weather and i dont think we could have asked for a better turn out.

The morning started out a little bit on the brisk side and with a chance of rain in the forecast i was glad we planned on hanging out under tent. The only showers we saw all day was for a few minutes on the way there. Once we rolled into town we could see some very good machinery at registration which was set up very nice little museum. However since the Willys is still sitting in my garage without a heartbeat we continued down to the river. We located the spectator parking then started our very short trek. We soon arrived to wide variety of 1972 and older automobiles; and with 1700 cars in attendance there was no shortage of things to see. The venue is absolutely wonderful with plenty of trees to provide shade; and as always this continues to be my favorite show of the season.

Since I was not able to have my ride there I have to thank molander here on the HAMB for his hospitality and taking my chairs in for me. Not only is he a wonder host he also makes some damn good chicken wings. The day was full of cars, food, and adult beverages…and then more of each. Below is a link to all the photos I took yesterday. There should be more but my camera decided to it was a good time to run out of battery power; and yes I did charge them overnight before I left. The link gives you everything; the images below are a few of my favorites. I can guarantee you that I will be back next year driving my own pickup. And should I happen to break down there was talk of altering my uncles Kia or putting that exta jeep body on a tractor…just kidding. Enjoy.

A quick disclaimer – Not everything is HAMB friendly and there are some pics of what might be considered “Rat Rods”. Now I looked at these cars and I can attest that the welds are solid and not chicken excrement. There was no half *** frame splicing or rides missing the floor boards.

Great pics, I was there yesterday and it was the biggest turnout I've seen. Wish I could have stayed for the cruise last night, that is way cool!
