I think 55-57 Chevrolet Bel-Air Hardtops should not be chopped. post cars are OK.

wouldn't chop one of those Ford retractables.

    "40" Willys don't take a chop well.

never seen a chopped "center door" T sedan.

Some look good with and most look better without chopped tops. My '31 has never been chopped and I plan to keep it that way.

You shouldnt chop a car that already has the perfect chop.

Pretty much everything else is fair game...

I think the biggest problem is the rear glass looks more aerodynamic than in the front.

33, 34 Mopars look chopped from the factory and 53 Studes are perfect the way they are.

Then you would not have anything to post about on this forum. Well, then that would be sort of a blessing.

Thank you, somebody gets it. Did I navigate to the wrong page or is this a custom car and rod site?

I also debunk the "I've never seen one that looked good" argument. Just because you never saw one doesn't mean it can't be done. I've seen some real bad Merc chops, doesn't mean a Merc can't be chopped well.

Everyone has their own taste. I like some cars chopped, especially in the 60's. Some look good lowered all the way around. Some look good with W/W Tires. My main thing is they are in good mechanically shape, so to each their own.

Post 1960 can be pulled off. This 64 Pontiac built by Richard Zocchi is a fine example in my book.

    Dumb.

If you've got the skills, you can chop pretty much anything not OT to this group. I'm sure without too much effort, a few pretty nice examples of every car on that list can be found chopped. '32's shouldn't be chopped? Are you on bath salts? Post war trucks even? Come on, yes you said it, that is stupid.

It's good that you and your old time buddies agree. I have different tastes. We can just agree to disagree. ;)

Sure some stuff is taken to stupid extremes, but I very much agree with Rusty:

    Bold empasis mine, Caps not.

What a bunch of self-righteous, self-inflating, stereotypical crap.
You're narrow-mindedness bores me. I can find that anywhere.
    Yawn back.

If you delete a post that somebody has replied to, that reply no longer makes sense.

( so I deleted my reply as well.)

    Anyway...

It seems we are no longer talking about chopping cars.

And this is just turning into another Drama Thread.
