These were sold to me as 26-27 T doors, the same as an early A pickup uses, but I had a chance to compare to a real 28 A pickup cab over the weekend and they're not as long by a few inches. Any ideas? I should have measured them but didn't think to, if I get a chance I'll go up to the storage unit and get the dimensions. But everything else matches up to a T - the belt line, the bottom bead, the door handle holes, etc. The front top is slightly lower than the rear, too. They're not in bad shape, and I've had some interest in them, but I don't want to sell them as the wrong thing.
That's what I'm thinking too. Looks like they may have used some wood inside. I would look in my Ford book if I knew where it was, I can't remember off the top of my head if they even made a 4-door T (as opposed to a center door).
I was thinking after 23 they had a lock on the front right door. Not 26-27 fordor or atleast don't appear to be. I am Guessing 23-25. Rod
Those are 26-27 Fordor doors. Best use them as wall hangers because unless times have changed alot nobody cares.
Times have not changed. I was hard pressed to get $20 out of a lower windshield frame with no rust out and 60% original paint on it. Rod
I believe they are Fordor doors, may be 23-25, I think the 26-27 had metal inners just like the Tudor. Bob
Eh, maybe I'll cut them up and make them into one door that will fit a tudor/coupe. All I'd have to do is stretch one a few inches. Thanks, guys -
If you compare them to the tudor/coupe/PU door, there are more differences than just adding a couple of inches. I picked up a few of these doors for that reason. I just haven't had a chance to get to the project yet.
I agree... fordor doors have the hinge above the belt line, coupe/sedan doors have the hinge in the belt line for 26-7. And the 26-7 fordor doors have the metal inner structure like a coupe/sedan door.
