when I tried to find them online it just says they re only on ebay now. Do they not offer that ph book thick catalog still? Its been a few years since I've used them but always had good luck. Maybe Im not looking in the right spot? Anyone got information on them. Thanks
tried a search, came up with the same thing and they only had 14 things on ebay. seems to be the sign of the times. its a shame. sad to remember the huge catalogs everyone used to have now its all online. i still prefer to flip through the pages myself. just got speedways catalog, good to sit down and thumb trough it.
if i recall, they sold the retail side long ago to super shops, and ran just mail order, but i think jegs, summitt, and speedy sent them packing a few years ago. i do remember the huge store in the san fernando valley many years ago..
I bought some engine parts from them back around 1982 or so.... the bearings were packed loose in a box, luckily they were not damaged. That was the last time I bought anything from them. Bob
That's what I remember. They were huge and then all of the sudden just the Hemi stuff. I'm not sure about even the Hemi stuff anymore..
I think that they are all but out of business as in no giany=t wearhouse any more. I think all they handle is Hemi stuff now or at least that is what I have heard.
I bought a lot of stuff from them in the 80's and 90's and had good luck with them. Their prices were hard to beat and most of the stuff that came in PAW boxes were actually name brand products repackaged. Hated to see them go. Don
They have been gone for the past 2 years or so, only hemi parts now. Owner got tired of it one day and just shut it down and kept the hemi side. I was of of the last customers before they locked the doors up. Got some good deals that day!
Remember in the 80's looking at the big catalog. I remember getting a friend to order a specific cam for his 403 olds, and holley. It was in a 77 buick regal. That car would run down the highway
Only ordered from them twice, both orders were screwed up and were jackasses about fixing it (like orderig a sbf chrome oil pan, and i the sealed bag was a chevy one). They wanted me to eat the shipping and a restock fee to return the pan. Good riddence.
Warehouse/store closed about 2 years ago. Their stock was so bad the last few years that they would have to order small block chevy valve cover gaskets
Last time I ordered from them in the 80's I ordered a SBC super stock racing short block. It went together and ran great. It was the cheapest source at the time and I had no problems....bummer to see any 'small' business go down and finally....out !
yeah now I remember the 90's car craft "cheap street" chevelle was mainly built with paw motors and parts
PAW Automotive. Wow, I haven't heard that name in some time. I remember the thick catalogs. I bought a rebuild kit for a 425 Buick Nailhead back in the early 80's from them. Had everything needed. All name brand parts to boot.
Last I heard they're no longer selling even the early hemi stuff. I didn't know they were still selling on ebay. May be selling final items?
It sucks I used to drive from my parent's house in Simi Valley to their showroom in Chatsworth back in the early 2000's all the time to buy speed parts for my OT car. What really blows is that now I live in Winnetka, about 2 miles from the old showroom and PAW is no more! Used to love the huge catalogs... good toilet reading!
Back in the 80's when they sponsored Shirly's T/F car I bought a rebuild kit for a small block chevy. I put 200,000 miles on that pickup traveling track to track. The stuff must have been ok. JC
Still have 3 of their catalogues. I too used to drive to the valley store from Pasadena and come home for a weekend engine build. I'll miss them. You had to know what you wanted and there was no better price in town. Super Shops in Alhambra/SanGabrial Blair's SS in Pasadena or PAW. Those were the days. Only Phill Lukens and Blair's still survive today.
about 4 yrs. ago, i bought a blower intake and front cover for my 392. i took some pictures of some pretty nice engines in their showroom, if anybody wants to see them.
Another one that bit the big one is Cars & Parts. I sub'd to that from '95 - '07 but they shit the bed. Shame.
