uhh yeah, hi... ummm so after signing up about 3 years ago to look at the pictures and use the search function this is my first post. Why now you say? we don't need another newby chump cluttering up our forum, you scream.... Tech Week, not because I'm hoping to take home the prizes and the glory (well maybe some glory) but because I'm hoping I can make a semi-decent contribution to the forum/world wide web and like the main man says in the sticky on this board "show a dedication to spreading this tradition of ours". I know, pretty special right? Having most of my stuff stolen then getting kicked out of our place meaning 2/3 of my projects are currently gathering dust in a warehouse, probably has something to do with it too. Pounding keys and showing off my **** instead of beating metal like I wish I was. Chances are you won't hear from me much, I'm no mechanic, engineer, fabricator, panel beater, welder, race car driver, 3rd generation Hot Rodder, rock star, reality TV celebrity, war hero etc. etc. I arrange art on walls for a living, but if I can offer something useful or interesting I'll try to chime in. What am I into? the same junk as you of course with a tendency towards clean customs. I've got a 51 Chevy 2dr sedan (use to be a 4dr) inspired by rides like McPhail's 52, Watson's G****vine, Livingston's gold Fleetline. A 51 Mercury Sport Coupe that's pretty much just a rusty rolling carc*** right now and an off topic BBC muscle car as my only functional form of transport. hopefully I can get a few pics to work, am I famous yet?
Welcome aboard Scott. Love to know a bit more about the Chevy and the Merc. I am currently building a website on the history of Customs in NZ. My project is a '49 Lincoln coupe. See avatar.
Scott: Nice looking rides for sure. I really like the 51 and what you have done to it. Greetings from the west coast of Florida. Hope you enjoy the HAMB. Best Regards Jimbo
Thanks guys it;s getting pretty late but here's the tech post: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8170079&posted=1#post8170079 Lifestlyz (Clive) we've actually talked via email a few times, I was interested in buying the bench seat out of your Lincoln and have been following the build on NZHotRod. Might have to start a thread about the Chev radgirl, looking forward to seeing what you do with your Merc
Yes Scott. Rings a bell now mate. A build thread would be good. I'm right into seeing how others handle things when building something out on left field.
