65 caddy 429 timing

I cant seem to find the stock timing deg. I saw 32 deg some where? any one know for sure? seems like it was too far advanced when starting but i turned it back a little dident seem to help. set at 8 deg now. thanks

its 5 deg.

 

spark plug gap is 35, dwell angle is 30, and points are 1/2 turn back from misfire

 

thanks. maybe a dumb question but what is the dwell angle thats what i saw at 30

 

its the degree of rotation of the distributor that the points are open and charging. you need a special meter to read it and its hard to find one.
