Too old to be a FNG

So.... I have been registered on the H.A.M.B. since 2008 and don't think I'm an FNG, but rules are rules! I have hesitated to introduce myself as I am mildly computer illiterate and old school and don't want to piss anyone off when I screw up in the cyber world. (can I say that?) My cars are old, have carburetors and distributors and old parts (like me)! I have pictures I can post later, but first I have to get the file size down to less gigabytes or whatever; I feel like I'm trapped in "Back to the Future" vs. understanding "Back to the Fifties". I guess once I step up to figuring out the computer, I can have friends too.

Welcome you old FNG. Don't blame us because you are slow and bashful. Start mashin keys on that keyboard and tell us a little about why you think you are an old car guy rather than just an old guy!
No matter how great a typerator you are you're gonna piss someone off. if you don't you are not HAMB quality!
Just remember, them thar delete and backspace keys are like your grinder, just get rid of your mistakes and try try again.
They can teach us old dog new tricks. We just don't roll over as fast or jump as high!;)

Thanks for the welcome!.....I'm mainly a qualified old car guy because my hands are always greasy and that's where all my money goes! Teaching my grandson's how to drive in a Model T...they will be the only kids on the block who know how.....
I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was...(I know plagiarism)

We adopted our first grandson. Retired when he was 5 years old. One thing I always remember is giving an older guy with a T ton truck that looked like Pa Kettles or the Beverly Hillbillies truck a couple of old Model T wheels and rims. When I wouldn't take any money and he kept buggin me I told him take the boy for a ride in the rumble seat of his Model A coupe. Our son is 23 now and we still talk about that one day!
We need to keep kids of all ages interested and active in old cars. ;)

Welcome to the insanity. I believe that we share that age thing with many others who post and reply to these threads. It's sorta like teaching an old dog new tricks. But, some of the tricks that us geezers know may or may not ever be learned by these younger guys. We gotta keep p***ing on what little we know.
    Again, welcome.

Welcome. Don't worry about pissin' anybody off. We piss each other off all the times but you won't find a better bunch of people than us!:D

Just make sure you read the forum rules and you'll be okay.

Welcome I share a lot of what your talking about. I am more at ease with a 9/16 wrench in my hand than a keyboard. But it won't take you long to figure out this can be one of the best tools in your box. I love how you can find parts without spending half a day walking around a dusty field and a tank of gas a**** other fees.
