I am talking of a friend of mine that has a 54 Ford Customline 2 door . It had a 223 6cly . But the transmission is still there . And it is an overdrive . Is there any way to adapt that transmission to a ford small block bell housing ? I know that the transmission bolt patterns changed somewhere around 64 or so . Is this possible ? The only reason for putting in a small block it is what I have laying in the shop floor .

  4. You can buy an adapter for about anything you want any more. I think that the ****** may be a little on the light side for a late model engine (not late late model mind you) but I don't doubt that Y blocks and 289s have been run in front of them before so it is not an impossible thing to do with a little sanity when you mash the loud peddle.

The customline could be made a real looker, I think it is a good startin gplace for a crusier.

porkn****** I think I may try to adapt it to a small block bell housing . I do have a spare OD unit out of a 56 ford fairlane . I did have one out of a 60 ford truck . I s****ped it when the ex left . Dang I wasn't thinking clearly ! Didn't think I would have a use for it . Dang how stupid of me !
