Hey I am new guy from NC . I have been following several builds on here . I admire some of these guys and gals talent . I have put together a couple trucks and antique tractors in the past . Some of my older friends that I have relied on for knowledge on building older engines and common problems on certain models have p***ed on . I get on here and read about others having the same problems . And how they worked it out . Its almost like talking to my old friends again . I relly like the HAMB ! Thanks for allowing me to join up .

Welcome! So is your binder a tractor or a truck? What model? I am also working on a '54 binder. Mine's an R100 and I'm well into my 3rd year building it. Should be going here shortly.

    Post some pictures of yours.

That is cool RatPin ! My truck is a 1954 R110 short bed . When I bought it it had a Ford 250 6cly , C4 transmission and a maverick 8" rear end . I pulled all that out cause the old engine smoked and the motor mounts we cobbled in . I am going back with a 6AT Onan with a 3speed OD top shift ****** . I had bought several of these engines from a local bread bakery . They were updating their delivery trucks at the time . It has been put on the back burner for the last year or so . Still collecting parts and stuff as the money allows . I will try to put some pictures up .

Welcome. We need pictures. Some of us don't know what a 54 Cornbinder is or an Onan generator!

Not the OP, but a Cornbinder or just Binder is an International Harvester ... Onan is a brand of generator from ***mins, but I'm not sure of the relationship between the brand and the biblical character who is alleged to have "pulled out' in defiance of law rather than impregnate his deceased brother's wife. More than you wanted to know? I'm not surprised!:D

    And welcome to the OP.

Onan does make generator sets . But the stationary engine and the automotive engine are different . Onan is owned by ***mins now . The engine I have is an automotive application it already has the adapter for the ford small block bellhousing . And it uses a standard ford truck clutch disc and pressure plate . I have to figure how to post a picture on here .
