Quick question. Does it matter what year Aerostar I get my springs from? I didn't know if some will give a 3" drop and others a different drop. Hitting the junk yard this weekend so let me know guys!! Thanks, Brandon
I ordered mine for a '90, I have heard conflicting reports whether the all wheel drive ones are the same as the 2wd ones, mine are from a 2wd. I paid $60 for a pair brand new from Autozone, don't know if it pays to get them from a junkyard.
Not worth going to a junkyard ,the new ones are at Autozone part # Duralast FCS-850V $66 for the pair.
Just did this swap and I bought them new from autozone for a 91 aerostar with tax total was $66.00. Initial drop was about 2 3/4 inches but I think once they are broken in it will be a little more like 3 1/4.
Do a quick search for the appropriate years; I believe the right ones were early 90s. Works great and drops the front by about 2.5 inches.
Amazon is $59 part number is CC850 (put in search) available with free shipping option 7-10 day wait.Print it up and take it to Autozone for a price match. If you are active military or a Veteran a 10% discount is available off Autozone's price.
A few years newer, but I put them on my 58 fairlane with S-10 shocks and ended up with about a 3 inch drop. Got it all from rock auto. They had factory close out on Bilstein shocks and I've got about $60 in the whole deal. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
It appears that $ 66 bucks is about as cheap as you can get them. Rock auto only wants $ 48.79 (CC850 Moog) but shipping would add another $ 15 approx. Advance Auto wants $ 78.00. For $ 66 I wouldn't climb under a wreck at the junkyard and go through all that h***le. I've seen a 51 Ford that had these springs installed and they really did a good job lowering it. Don
That 10% is only if they honor it. Not every Autozone does. it's the managers choice. Out of a dozen or so I've used only 2 honored it.
Here is a helpful list:http://www.veteransresources.org/military-discounts/ you could always call ahead and ask if they discount, notice Advance Auto and O'Reillys are on the list, thankfully O'Reillys and Autozone here in the Phoenix area have always treated me right.Easy choice,if a business won't support our troops and those that served they don't deserve our business! My hat's off to LOWE's and Home Depot you have always treated me right too.
