What parts would a flathead need for a road trip that you wouldnt be able to get? I never get the logic when people say flatheads are un-reliable.. I know thats not what you said here but I still dont get it.. $0.02.

    Me too, don't get it!?
If one consider to run a Flethead in enything, do it!
Personally I have as much fun building it as driving it.
And look at it this way, less parts to break,
no rocker arms or push rods:D!
The sound of a Flathead is unbeatable!!
Just saw my first Flathead in a 34 Ford, I rebuild it in 1991, still working.
It is a 276 cid, with Isky 77B cam, ported relived, Offy heads and 2 old Strombergs and old Mallory dualpoint. Has punded that engine for 13 years:D!

I'm working on putting a '32 Roadster body on a Prius ch***is, engine, & drive train. Should get really good mileage and great performance. Right now I'm hung up on finding a generator that's strong enough to keep that enormous lithium battery charged. I'll keep looking though; I definitely want it to be traditional.

One of the main indicators of an FNG who found the HAMB through Google is answering an ancient and dead thread an quite often with an off topic question or comment.

Almost everyone has fallen in that trap at one time or other but if you do a lot of searches on here it might be prudent to read the date (s) on the thread to see how out of date it is.
I still say that dead threads should automatically lock after being dead for 6 months and only be revived by the original poster of the thread.
