Thanks, but damn it I wanted everybody to notice that. I see what you're saying about pickups being different. That being said. How many guys raise the bed up the amount of the channel? Which I think looks funky. I do agree with you about the proportions looking weird on a sedan when the wheelwel isl raised though. You said you would like your Vicky lower. For me getting the stance exactly where I was happy is more important then where the wheels fall. It's not that you or anyone else doesn't understand. It's what looks right to your eye. And that's what's important.
I agree, the stance makes or breaks the looks. Sometimes getting that stance costs room.that's already taxed in these things. Lowering the lid 3-5" and raising the floor the same really tightens things up. I'm funny and want it all without giving up anything. I did get the stance exactly where I wanted it, but I did it the hard way I guess. I started with the rear wheel spaced in the factory arch. Dropped the frame down 2" with a little bit bigger kick up. I then added two inches to the bottom of the doors, cowl, and B pillar quarter to the wheel well & dropped the floor 2" inside the frame rails. Now that was a massive amount of bullshit to go thru and figure out how to get there. It looks channeled 2", chopped more than it is, lower than it is, & plenty of room inside for my needs. So that's how I got the stance and without moving or violating the rear wheel arc suppose i could have got a 4" wider rear and just dropped it between the wheels . Sure sounds easier
Here are a couple from my Dad's photo collection. And a surprise for Lurk King. I think we were at the same place on the same day about 25 years ago.
I wish. But I was only two years old! But thanks for posting theses pics. (and the ones from your dads photo album.) I've had that pic saved for a while and always wondered what the rest of the car looked like.My "right click save" instincts come on pretty strong when I see a cool hotrod with old BC plates.
The rear wheel arch was for the stock car. My Dad used to preach to me that a Hot Rod was ignoring everything that was stock. Not sure I totally agree now, but they use to give him shit when he put a little Hemi in his '32, back in the early '60's. When I was 8 I had a baseball roll under a Model A he had and got stuck, I couldnt even get my leg under the car to reach the ball It must have been low. Wish I had photos, those poloroids just didnt last.
