I was digging around earlier today for some info on Antique/Cl***ic vehicale registration in Texas, and a thread from H.A.M.B. popped up. I buzzed around the site, and I saw it's based out of Dripping Springs, Texas, which is a small town near where I live. I was really thrown off by that, but I wasn't too surprised. I believe there's a car museum or two out that way. Plus, it's a fun cruise when you've got no one in front of you to slow ya' down. Any H.A.M.B.ers go out to the Cabela's meet?
Okay, almost an introduction. We know why you accidentally came here. But really why?? What kind of cars do you play with or have? Post some pictures and tell about yourself. If you don't I'm moving to Texas and then it will be overfull!
I like the play with or have question, as it really leaves wiggle room. I have a '66 Chevy Impala, and a '66 Porsche 911. Buzzing around the site yesterday, the 911 would stick out like a sore thumb here. The Impala, not so much. The Impala I had stopped driving it in 2004, but it's getting sorted out now for more drive-ability. At the the time, I had reached critical m*** and I couldn't deal with it anymore. So, it sat for 8 years unmoved. Pursuing two college degrees probably attributed to some of that, but more so frustration with the car leaving me stranded on the regular. It was my father's father's car, then my father's, then mine. 3rd generation owner. My avatar isn't the car, I just happened to like that guy's '65. The 911? Longer story, I'm not getting into that, but I have a tendency to get in over my head with projects. Especially when I see potential for something. Another 2.0, or a 2.2, 2.4, or 2.7 swap needs to be addressed with that. No more project cars. I have more than enough to deal with right now. Here's a couple pics of the 911. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8185620&postcount=83 So, I ***ume you have a Model T? I was just out in FL a couple months ago for a week. I have some family out in Del Rey Beach.
