I'm using original 1932 tail lights with the two single prong bulbs, a 1073 and a 67. The wiring kit I'm using has 3 wires running to the back of the car. Parking lights, turning signals and brake lights. The diagram they sent me does not explain this hook up. Can someone tell me how to wire this?
    Thanks

Should only need one wire for the turn brake wiring. Could the extra wire marked brake be a dedicated third brake wire?

That would make sense. Which bulb would be used for the turn brake wire?

COULD BE....1-left/brake, 1 right/brake, 1 parking. Time to get the meter/ test light out. Or call the manufacturer of your harness. Did they give you a wiring diagram with the harness?

Is it a ground wire, you would need one for fibergl*** body.

could be 1. tail lights, 2. stop lights, 3. ground.

As the man said, use a test light.

Most likely a 3rd brake light. I'm too familiar with aftermarket harnesses, but shouldn't the only three going to the back be park/running,left turn, right turn. The brake wire doesn't go past the headlight switch/brake switch. The park/run could go to ur license plate too.

the three wire have to be right turn/brake, left turn/brake and a tail light wire. are the wires green, yellow, and brown? possibly; green right, yellow left, brown tail. you will have to ground the housing. turn brake wire go to the brightest filament.

NOT THAT SIMPLE. Your test light will tell you current is coming thru a wire. Problem here is you do not have enough contacts on bulbs to handle all of the electrical currents coming thru wires. Simply stated, you need a contact for each wire coming in. You can probably change to a double contact in the taillight socket and connect running lights to the low light side of a double filament bulb and the brake lights to the bright contact. Two filaments/contacts = two circuits. Don't forget, the current has to go back out the ground to complete the circuit, which it does thru the base of the bulb socket. Create a good ground.
TURN SIGNAL circuit - You need another contact/filament (single contact bulb) to connect turn signal wire to, front and rear. (With good ground to socket base)
OR!!! You have to switch current coming from the brake light switch to the brake light contact to power coming from the flasher to the brake light contact. (One side at a time)
That should be clear as mud.

On the Painless website they have posted this information. It would appear that your harness is designed to accommodate both separate tail light and brake lights or integrated tail and brake lights.........

    Tail Section Wiring
Connect the wires of the TAIL and TURN SIGNAL SECTIONS as indicated in Table 11-2 with the
exception of #918 (wht), #948 (grn), #949 (ylw) and #950 (orn).
10.9.2 These 4 wires will be connected according to one of the diagrams shown in BELOW. Which
diagram you will use depends on whether or not you have one bulb on each side of the vehicle
that is for the brake/tail and Turn Signal Lights (this is referred to as integrated lights) or you
have more than one bulb on each side and the Brake and Turn Signal Lights are hooked to
different bulbs (referred to as separate Brake/Turn Lights).
Note A: If you have Integrated Brake Lights you must use bulbs that have two (2) filaments in
them such as in an 1157 bulb.
Note B: The three wires shown in these diagrams are connected to the "brighter" of the two
filaments when using a two-filament bulb (the Tail Lights are usually connected to the
"Dimmer" filament). The Tail Lights, License Plate Lights, Reverse Lights, etc. are not
shown on the diagrams for clarity.
Note C: In the separate Brake Light diagram the arrangement shown is only one of several ways
to wire a vehicle. The important thing

    Yellow left turn
    Green right turn
Brown taillights - the brown goes to both tail lights

Those should be your three wires

The 1073 is normally the stop or turn bulb. The 67 would be the tail light.

Whether this will work for you depends on the turn signal switch you have.

If it's a column mounted switch that you feed the brake light wire from the switch to the turn signal switch you can get away with wiring the stop/turn wires to the socket with the 1073 bulb.
If you used one of the old style turn switches that you clamped on the column you will need to have a second element for either the stop or turn lights.

Those who say that the three wires running to the back are tail, left turn/brake, right turn/brake are correct and the rest of them are ******* in the wind trying to impress people with nonsense.

What are you using for a turn signal switch? That will determine how you set things up and if you will need to run another wire to run the brake lights or not.

Thanks for all the good info. I think I have it solved. It seems like the brake wire is for a 3rd brake light. I hooked up the turn signals through the 1073 bulb and parking lights through the 67 bulb and everything seems to be working fine.
    Thanks again.
