What is the fuel tank capacity for a 1955 Chevy 210 Sedan? I got a new billet dash and new gauges and am trying to figure out the fuel gage. Thanks for the help!
Best I remember, it's around 18 gallon. Been a long time since I had one though and I'm old and forget stuff. Billet???? Later, ****
Billet?????? You did mean that you picked up a machined aluminum dash with aftermarket gauges. I don't remember a gauge that cares about Gallons except some digital gauges which along with that B stuff won't be HAMB friendly no matter how cool the guys who hang out at cruise night at McDonalds think they look.
I have a hand made aluminum dash/gauge panel hanging on my wall but mine is made from aluminum plate and not billet. 16 gal is what I recall them being, but what is to figure out. A half tank is still a half tank if it is 5 gallon or 100 gallon.
If you want to calibrate the gas gage, it helps if you know how much the tank holds....and running it dry is a painful way to find out
I always carry a can on a new build, hell even some of my old builds when the gauge doesn't work. My hauler says it has 1/2 when it has 5 gallons in it. Either the sender or the gauge doesn't match, the gauge would be easier to change, so when I get to half a tank I start looking for gas. I don't fool with electronic gauges much my old stuff either the gauge or the sender isn't correct and it is a pretty easy fix most of the time. That is not to dis electronic gauges I just don't have that stuff.
Billet Dash?? Did I say that?? Just goes to show what an old man can do late at night when he is not paying attention. What I meant to say is I have a new Aluminum Dash Insert with new gages. I just wasn't sure how many gallons of fuel these tanks hold. Thanks for the answers and the advise. Billet Dash-what the hell was I thinking??
