    You're kidding right??
I WISH it were only 3 hours for me.
I drive almost 9 hours each way to attend the Jalopy Showdown in York Springs in May each year.

The event you are referring to at Beaver Springs is a drag race and would be WELL WORTH a 3 hour drive.

Jalopy showdown SHOWS are at Lattimore, near Gettysburg, VERYVERY worthwhile.
Beaver Springs is old time drag race...only time I went was a total typhoon washout, so no direct knowledge, but I would bet money on its being worth the trip too. I'll be traveling there.

Hell a 3 hr. drive? I took a 24 hr. ride one way to The Lone Star RoundUp. Although I did cheat to take a plane to the LA roadster and GNRS which was a 6 hr. plane ride. Perhaps others and I are diehards?

It surely is refreshing to see different cars and build styles as it gets downright boring to see the same thing locally time after time....

Sept 29th -- less than 2 weeks away. It's 5 1/2 hours for us on a good day towing the Falcon. We're there every year. This is the most fun racing event of the year. Hell, even the long distance car wash was a great time !!!!

For those of us not camping at the race track, where is everybody else staying, hotels wise? I got on the Jalopy Showdown website, but the hotel page showed zilch....???

There really is not anything in the way of hotels near the track. Your best bet would be in the selisgrove/hummels wharf area. That is about a half hour from the track along rt.15. Or try the Lewistown area if you are coming from the west.
