Well, I just bought yet another project, and find myself in un-explored teritory, my first tri power set up! YEA!! I admit, I know very little about these, so i'm looking to the HAMB to get my education. All 3 carbs are vintage Ford, but thats about all I can tell you. I do not know what these were originally from. To the best of my knowlege Ford carbs were made by Holley, is this correct? Are these Holley 94 carbs? I'm missing some parts, as you can see in the photos, only the center carb has a linkage. Can someone recomend a linkage kit for these? Mabey someone here would be willing to part ways with the correct linkage? When possible, I prefer vintage parts over new parts, but at this point, i'm open to whatever gets the job done. Any details on the Edelbrock manifold? I've included as many photos as I could fit in this message. Any info I can get on this set up is greatly welcome.
Look for a big number on the carbs somewhere around the bowls. It could be 94 or it could be another one like 81 or even EDB I think.I think you could find these from the factory on Ford cars up to 54 or 55. I have heard some people say the 94s are better than the stromberg 97s, but I don't know. Some were marked Holley and some were Ford. The manifold you have is supposed to flow better than the Offenhauser from what I have read. I know very little about what you seek, but this diatribe will at least give you a bump to the top...☺
There ware many venturi sizes nad other variations of the 94 over the years, I can tell you the center one with the big flange on the top is from a truck.
The carbs are all made by Holley for Ford. The ones marked "94" are from a flathead ford. The "EDB" carb is from a Y-block Ford engine - 54,55,56 etc as stated above. I understand the outside carbs flow better with the choke installed, just strapped wide open. Plug the vacuum ports on the back of the carbs. Put the big carb in the middle as the primary carb. There are many carb experts on this site. I will defer to them. Your carb config has good possibities, if it is set-up correctly. Some of these experts post on this site and the Fordbarn, also. If you don't find the info you need, try the Fordbarn. Best of luck ...jack
Drop Dickster27 a PM if you have any unanswered questions. He can get you squared away with vintage linkage parts and just about anything else you'll need. He's the most knowledgeable carb man I know. Way more so than myself!
Center carburetor is a 7RT, made from 49-53. It is a "94" as indicated on the back. The rear carburetor is an ECG5 from '56. The 5 indicated manual choke, a 6 would be auto choke. It is either 1-1/16" or 1-1/8", can't remember for sure, but you can check. This would not be a "'94" as the venturi is larger than 0.94". Sorry, can't read the front carb number for sure, but it sort of looks like ECG 5 as well. The 553 on the manifold indicates it is for the earlier, small port Y-blocks. Still a useable manifold on a later, large port stock to mild engine.
Check the ports size on it before you get too far involved. Edelbrock made an early manifold for the smaller port 239 Y block and then later made a newer intake design to fit the larger port 292/312s
