If you have a Desoto hemi and want more than just a hotter grind on a stock core, you can now get new roller cams for the Desoto hemis. I just ordered a new roller cam for my Desoto 341. Not real hot, but enough for the street. It is a 282 degree X.450" lift. It is designed to run from 3,000-6,500 RPM and can take a lot more spring pressure that a stock core. You shouldn't need special oils when running this cam. The place is Contreras Cams and the nimber is 1-714-533-6033. Ask for Don Johanson or Natchi. This is not a commercial for them, but I just had to spread the word. Bill:)

I just got a cam for my tall Deck Desoto today that I had found on ebay. It is an Iskenderian reground 270 Mega Hydra with duration of 270 degrees and a lift of .460”. Now I have to choose between this Esky and a cam I just had reground by Chris Neilson. The Neilson cam also has duration of 270 degrees but with a lift of .425. I guess it’s always good to have options.

I have a few old Chet Herbert cams from back in the day for my 291 desotos. However, I may need one for my 341 now since I'm going with a blower now. Thanks for the info!

Need some help here...not a thread hi-jacker, we just need our parts.

A few may know that Chet Herbert was closed down last summer. I need to know if someone can help me track Roy or someone down from that store may of come may of handled my pair of good 291 cores I had sent to the Chino store for regrinds back in June.

I had only discovered that it was closed when calling the number goes straight to NC! They put me on the horn with Bruce who had no help or info "you will get em when you get em, if we find em", and the counter help quotes they are only order takers, left messages with both him and Doug as Bruce said the parts may be in a shipment of **** from the closure and neither have gotten back after numerous calls and messages since reaching out in July.

Need help guys, talking to whomever may have been around the closure that can direct me. I have 2 project hemis coming out of machine and no cams. Talking to Nielson to get my projects moving, but we all know how hard good Desoto cores are to come by...gold!

PM me or not, someone is not making hotrodding cool over there!
