Al was a pretty sharp guy as was Howard Johanson. Little piece of history for the fuel altered fans , Al Barnes was the man behind the idea of the wing on the "Winged Express" AAFA. By design the short wheelbase "Fool Altereds" are a tad on the shakey side at top end , so Barnes and Mousie came up with a spring loaded wing and strut system that would load the rear at speed and flatten out. The "new" car has a solid mount to satisfy the tech people, it is adjustable however. Big Mike Boyd likes to bring the front tires off the ground at 3/4 track , and he states the car is really scarey with the tires on the ground !Talk about cajones !!
