friend of mine just bought a very solid 32 4dr body. no rust at all except a little surface rust. and no i can't post pics, but trust me. now the question. me wanting know all i can about 32's (although i don't know why cause i'll never have a real henry, maybe a gl*** car, someday, but i digress.) on the right rear seat riser, there is what looks like a vent ,or a speaker hole, pretty sure that ain't what it is but what is it.its square with holes drilled in it in a pattern.looks like it might have been covered in cloth at one time.if it matters the car is a late production,de-lux model. has sunvisors, running lights on cowl and inside dome lite.ok let me know. lets see how long it takes to get a answer..................ready..................GO
Do you mean on the floor under the rear seat, on the right side, the little 6" x 3" rectangular hole in the floor, that's missing the cover plate once held on with 4 sheet metal screws that lets you access the fuel tank sender???
If it is aftermarket work it might be the exit for hot air from exhaust pipe heater set up. Photos sure would help. Bob
yeah i know but i don't have that capability. but if i can i'll see if my buddy can do it. but more info on the exhaust pipe heater would be nice.thanks
I don't understand the question. Pictures would help. Are the holes from Ford or added later? Charlie Stephens
as stated above pics are beyond my feeble mind. the plate looks like original henry ford but not sure. it is on the seat riser,on the right side, rear. i'll see if my buddy can shoot and post some pics.
Got a '32 license plate?---Any condition as long as you can read it!!---Not for restoration---Just a wall hanger for collection---Thanks,Don
Posting this photo for my good buddy BA KING. This is the vent he was trying to explain. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Someone added that,,Henry never had anything like in in a 32,,or at least my 4 door sedan didn't! HRP
Looks like the sort of punching done on pie safes, antique cabinets to store...pies...with punched tin to air them without mousing them. So we're back to pies... So, we need a theory: By 1933, the crops failed again and the bank took the farm back. The family hit the road for rumored jobs in California, abandoning everthing that wouldn't fit in a deuce full of people and dogs...including Grandma's pie cooler cabinet. To soothe her loss, they let her stash the last two pies under the seat of the Henry, and they snipped a nostalgic piece of tin out of the door of the abandone pie safe... Hey, we gotta account for all the weird mods we find in our deuces somehow!
Or the young couple that just got married leaving the old country church on a sultry summer day and there mean spirited friends used the piece to punched tin from grandma's pie safe to effectively release the aroma of the still fresh cow patty's under the seat. HRP
Not from the factory. My guess is that it was added to cover a speaker added under the seat. Charlie Stephens
first, thanks to my friend dirtslinger for posting the pic,i hope it wasn't a lot of trouble.and thanks for the replies. i wasn't sure about it,it even has 5 perfectly round holes behind it.like they were punched by the factory. just looks like it grew there to me(the untrained eye). like said above it will become a piece of wall art. or some far fetched story about the ultra rare something or another on 32s.thanks again
