I have a question regarding the term "hot rod" on a ***le. I am in the process of completing my 1928 ford sedan. I kept all reciepts and made a nice book of everything I purchased. I got it inspected by the state patrol and p***ed with flying colors. They said that they dont do this often but will in this case ask the state to issue a full ***le for the car as apposed to an ownership in doubt ***le for three years (state of Washington)as I did not get one with the basket case of initial parts I bought. The question is this, when i was at the lisencing place the gal asked me what I want it to be called on the tilte. The state patrol wrote on the inspection sheet that it should be called a "1928 ford hot rod". I was suprised she asked me what I wanted..... I said please just put 1928 ford tudor sedan. Without the "hot rod" term in it, she did as I asked to my suprise. Why would I want or not want this extra hot rod language thrown in there?

  2. Hot rod on the want side and insurance reasons on the not want side.

Hot rod on an original ***le if the state outlaws hot rods as it means that the car is not altered, not hot rod on the ***le if the state outlaws hotrods because they will automatically void your ***le.

I could probably go on for hours but you catch my drift correct? you want ti ***led as it would have been originally.

I'm with P-n-B in that the "hot rod or Street Rod" designation on the ***le and or registration might come back to bite a guy on the **** later either with insurance or for other reasons later on down the road.
The only good thing about having hot rod on the ***le was that there would be no question later if the insurance company insuring the car baulked at something.

Even with the three year wait thing we do have it pretty good here as long as someone doesn't come in and mess things up.

Sometimes the ***le takes more work than building the car. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I feel the standard original description was best so I went that route. Just having the ***le and and all the hoopla they put me through behind me is such a great feeling.
