I'd like to see it without the top and with a different firewall...

Well the proportions are wrong, but the stuff is there. If the body is any good and you had some of the necessary remaining parts,it might be worth a trial bid. Got to get rid of that top, though.

Some things should never get past the idea phase.

I'm thinking this is one of those times... One of those times when a man started listening to his friends... and thought of building... a Hotrod. He had no clue where to start or what he was doing, but he had friends, KNOWLEDGABLE friends that had never built a Hotrod themselves, but knew everything about the subject to lecture him on how to do it correctly. So he went forth and aquired all the essential parts that his friends told him he needed to build this...this...Hotrod. THEN! Reality sets in. Funny thing..reality..some people call it ...Common Sense?...he suddenly realizes he's in over his head!...panic stricken he realizes his only way out is(ebay) suicide! He must reinforce his family's faith in him...that he can redeem himself by selling this monstrocity for more money than he paid for it. But alas... What the Hell am I saying!! Sorry guys. The Coronas took over again. :D

The top, firewall and tires aren't helping the situation. None the less, there's tons of potential for the project. I'd show it some love ( the right kind ) if it some how ended up in my lap.

Okay, here's the frightening aspect of this. I'm sort of in the same place as this guy -- but piecing together a '27 highboy in the garage. I know what I want it to look like, and I've got the stance figured out, got the body and the wheels and tires bought, the whole maghilla mocked up in plywood and looking okay just to prove the point.
I've now got the front axle & suspension bought, and I'm just now putting the front end together. I've always warned the family that I might get about $4,000.00 into this project and just sell it if it doesn't work out the way it sits in my mind. So far, everything is working, and I haven't got to $4,000.00 yet. My total budget is around a dollar-a-pound, but in 1955 dollars, which gives me something north of $13,000.00.
My take on this eBay offering is that the guy was going for a home-built and had the same limitations I have. He got to the $3,000-$4,000 point, looked at what he had, and said "Whoa Nelly, I got a garage-full of stank, time to bail!"
I'd prefer to think he meant well on a limited budget and could recognize his grievous errors at the point of no return rather than that he thought this P.O.S. was a *****in' ride.
