A good buddy of mine, Joe C, is having some issues with his flathead near Tuscaloosa, AL. He's headed to Baltimore for the TRJ show. Anyone close?

If so, give him a call. 504-430-6333

UPDATE: He's now headed towards Knoxville, TN!

    Might be ignition related.
Mallory electronic distributor in 1950 merc flathead engine.
Getting him to check and make sure he is getting full 12 volts
    To power distributor.
Also reaearching what that distributor is supposed to be getting to it.
12 volts? Or is there supposed to be a ballast in front to make like 8 volts?

Might not be it, but can make electronic ign miss and run bad if voltage not right to them.

    A start.

I think supposed to be a ballast resistor in line, and then only about 8 volts at distributor?
    checking.......
ANYONE AROUND THAT AREA? ROADSIDE HELP? i AM JUST ON PHONE.

What ignition set up is it? Some take a resistor, some dont. Just reread, if it is a unilite,,, it takes a resistor.

yes, uni lite. it does take a resistor.

Could be something else, but a volt check going into and out of the ballast is where I would start.
