I guess I jumped the gun on posting without properly introducing myself... Anyhow, Let me just say how much I appreciate what this site is all about and the info it provides! Eight years ago I had the opportunity to purchase a '54 Bel Air 210 (235 w/Powerglide) from the original owner, and let me tell he gave me a hell of a deal! I bought the car after graduating college for $2500. All original, 40k miles and not a single dent on this thing! Anyway I towed it home, parked it in the garage and covered it with the hopes of getting it on the road ASAP. Meanwhile, 8 years go bye and two kids later I finally found time to start the project. About two weeks ago I changed the battery, put in some new plugs dumped some gas down the carb and she fired up! My two sons came running out of the house and into the smoke filled garage screaming... DAD YOU FINALLY GOT IT RUNNING!!! We jumped and went around the block and the couldnt stop smiling. I hope some day ill be able to cruz to a show with the kids in the back and eventully p*** the car on! Keep spreading the word, so hopefully someday this generation of tuners wake up and realize what real cars are made of!
Congrats on getting started. I have a 54 Belair that came from my home town of Altoona, now living in MD an hour south of DC. Keep posting and keep us up to date.
