Hi, I'm still working on going through all the past posts, but this site is amazing. The wealth of knowledge here is amazing. I just picked up a "brand new" 1950 chevy 1/2 ton pickup. I'm planning to do a frame off "restoration". Well not really a restoration, but I'm starting from the frame up. I am definitely an amatuer, my only experience is from my 1968 Nova that I worked on for a year and a half before it got rear ended [IMG] Anyways, I'm looking forward to reading through these posts and if you have a pickup like mine, send me some photos or give me links to some good information about them.
    Thanks
    -Andrew

You'll forget all about that "restoration" stuff if you hang out here long enough! [IMG]

Them old Stovebolt pickups make cool cruisers!

You a pilot or an air traffic controller???

    (Noticing your signature).

    Welcome to the Jungle!! [IMG]

  4. Welcome to the board.

I had a '51 prostreet that never got finished...sold it. I have always liked the L47-E54 Chevy Trucks. There are a few Chebbie trucks on this board. I think there is a recent post of one doing a nice smoky burnout! There is alot of info that p***es through here...also a lot of O/T BS.

By the way just because someone posts 134+ in less than a month doesn't mean anything...some old timers have less than that. They just don't post cuz of people who post 134 times in less than a month!

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] I can do an impersonation of 1 slow delivery! You can too!! I'll show ya how...

Curl your right wrist and put it over your chest...Put your left ear on your shoulder.....now try to lick that ear...stop for a second and say "Blah Blah Blah" then try to lick your ear again. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

  5. I didn't think '50 Chebbies were ever brand new. [IMG]

Sorry to hear about you're NOVA, but at least gettin **** banged put you on the right track. [IMG]

Welcome, hang out and learn or teach. Us old farts can still learn a trick or two from the young guns.

OT 1LOWDELIVERY, better check you're not a journeyman anymore.

Wow that's a better response than I've gotten from a lot of other boards. In reply to Fat Hack, I'm studying ATC at embry riddle right now, I got about a year left till I get to do it for real. However, I am going to get my helicopter certifications so that I can get on the other side of the mic every once in a while. And Curly, I'm not sure what the point of the ear thing is, but I had fun trying. What's the Rod scene like up there in Cleveland? I'm hoping to get a job at Burke Tower or in Cleveland Center.

  7. Cleveland and rods??? Hmmm we are under a winter storm warning right now and soccer mom's with cell phones are wrecking SUV's all over the place. Rod scene is officially over this time of year. We all sit in the garage *****in' about how all the good paying jobs left and we swap lies, parts and work for the next 3-4 months on our junk so that next year it won't:
    1. Break as much
    2. Smoke as much
    3. Out run so and so's junk
    4. Try to disguise it as much as possible so it don't look like it did last year
    5. Try to make it look like last year but only better
    6. Make it look/run like I wanted to in the first place.

Come about April/May we have our **** torn apart and slap it together real fast cuz we don't want to miss any good cruising weather and in the process it:
    1. Breaks as much as last year
    2. Smokes as much as last year
    3. Still can't out run so and so's junk
    4. It looks exactly like last year
    5. It looks exactly like last year but only worse
    6. It still doesn't look/run like I wanted to in the first place.

  8. Do you know the girl that drives a blue '69 Camaro at ERAU?

I've seen her, don't know her though. I guess I should stop and talk to her one day but I'm usually in a hurry to get off campus and that's the only place I see her. Although, Just the other day I was commenting to my friend that it wasn't fair that she had such a nice working camaro and my truck can't even be towed down the street w/o causing problems.
