I picked up a duvall type windshield for a winter project on my 29 chevy. The one problem I have is the state of NH says I need to have a windshield wiper. Does anyone have a pics of how thats done and still looks good.

Ron Francis Wiring sells a Duvall Wiper bracket that is made out of soft rubber and molded to grip the windshield. It will accept most wiper motors. Check his website out. I spoke with a guy yesterday who installed one to p*** the HWY Patrol safety inspection.

  3. I was noticing at the Andy's Run when they went back for the Good Guys a lot of expensive cars and no wipers on some of the ones I saw. Dangerous as hell if you're going to drive in the rain. Dumb to drive in the rain with no wiper.

Bobby, the guy I spoke with about the Duvall windshield wiper system, said it is portable. It clamps on the the windshield and plugs into the cigarette lighter. Easy to remove and store, and easy to put back on if it rains.

Do they have to be motor driven or can they be moved manually with a little lever on the inside?

Take a look at the picture. My friend jmikee built this using 40 hudson (i think) wipers. I can find out if you want.

All the "expensive cars" on Andy's run from Ca. to Indy were driven.

Wipers are necessary for driven cars. They are a safety item.
Show studs started this no wiper stuff back in the 80s and it somehow migrated to street cars and then things got stupid... and cars weren't driven as often or as far.
Hand-operated wipers are silly but easily installed stowable electric wipers are not.

  12. I also used a Jag mechanism on an O/T car with a Duvall style screen. I fitted a wiper arm and blade from an MG T series - easily available from companies like Holden and SVC.

Over here you only need a wiper on the drivers side screen - that made it all easier.
