Last year when cleaning out the buildings in a now closed salavage yard we threw these on the trailer of things to keep instead of the s**** trailer. Looking at the few on e-bay not selling in much better condition I am now wondering if these should have gone to the s**** also. The Riverside seems to fir the GM tailshaft housing bolt spacing and the Fenton looks to be a universal application. What are your opinions? Thanks Rod
Pretty much. The buyout of the stuff in the buildings, most being NOS and NORS was to resell, although I have kept afew things back for myself. I am now about 70% through with the sorting. Mainly ignition parts, headlight parts and tail lights left to go through. Sure has made a mess of my once well organized and almost clean shop, but it was still a good decesion. Rod
You can always cut them and graft them on to an existing shifter when they are not tall enough,,I cut and modified an old 60's shifter to fit the T-5 in the wagon. HRP
I'd have to second what HRP said in post #6. Those were low quality shifters when they were new that sold for around 20.00 at places like Value-Mart. They never were much of a shifter but the handles look like they have decent shapes and could be welded to a shifter with a funky handle to make it look better or work better.
I was considering using the Riverside on a 46 Chevy pickup when we do the 235 swap. Likely will use the 3 speed off of the 235 although I have not looked to see how doable that part will be. Plan is to drive it unrestored as it is really a solid pickup. Likely I will have to extend it some for that to be a comfortable shift. Rod
You can't recreate patina like that........some guys pay big money for stuff that looks like that. Don
