Anywhere but Texas it's hot here, did I mention that it is Hot here in Texas. Don't forget the extremly high property taxes and extremly high temeratures. In North Texas there is Ice for about a week in the winter time when it's not hot. A few cars here and there but nothing like California. Did I mention Texas is Hot. We don't need anymore Californians in Texas where it's Hot. Colorado is nice if your a a tree hugger, We don't have those in Texas because it's Hot and trees just burn up. California has beautiful palm Tress we don't have those either because it's Hot. There are some pine trees but because it's Hot they are only a few inches around because it's hot. California has year round Car stuff if your car is registered like it should be, it's cheap and not hot.

Let me wrap it up for you.
California No inspection stickers required, low registration fees, lots of Cars no rust and millions of Car people and for the most part it's not Hot.

Texas has a few cars a couple of events but most car people and cars burnt up because it's hot.

Colorado good place for you if you have a Woody (er uh:eek:)

Washington a place where windshield wipers are a main topic at any event.

Did I mentioned Arizona It's hot there.

Florida has nice weather but your car may not make it through the year because it will rust.

Louisiana, Your car is under water most of the year.

Georgia is Peachie state but never been to anything in Georgia do they have cars there?

Arkansas Alabama Mississippi have the same issues as Florida.

Any State North of Interstate 40 is freezing ass cold.

    That Leaves California,

It's Hot in Texas and when it drops to 80 like today your looking for a coat. Did I mention it gets hot in Texas.

I like my state but I love visiting other states! Registrations for all vehicles vary wildly in fees across different counties. Do your homework before you go in and the pain is less. Our state employment tax lands in the lower half of all states. I wear shorts year round but the humidity kills me July through September! peace

  5. I want colder summers without serious snow in the winters, no major flooding rain for months, no wizzard of OZ twisters, a good chunk of land for a shop, no tweakers or thieves, no swarms of bugs, not over crowded, a place where my retirement bucks will go a little further, no tweakers or thieves, nice people in town (when I go to town), a place where I can build cars/stuff and be left alone..........Oh yea, no tweakers or thieves.

I'm not too picky right? :D

California for sure. I haven't found anything I like better. Relatively easy DMV "rules", true mediterranean climate and high wages. If you drive outside of the LA basin or San Francisco Bay Area, the state is quite rural.

  12. Climate is most important to me. I wish they could move Texas to California.

Not Montana, guaranteed 8 months of salt and sand covered roadways. No sales tax, but high property and state income tax. Poorly edcuated car culture, lotsa muscle cars and high end billet rods, rarely owner built. Most people here look at a 60s kustom and automatically it's a lowrider, a fenderless roadster with painted wheels and a 50s mill must be a ratrod. Little competition in body shops, trim shops, muffler shops, as a result prices are high. If it dont burn rags and have 8" stacks, the under 40s aint interested.
I am currently looking at Santa Maria to Sacto, been there twice in last year. Like the climate and car scene.

Q'ld in Australia. Perfect weather and no snow. You can drive your car 365 days per year. Forgot the clowns in Government, state and Federal; more people moving here than to another other state.

Maine is hot rod friendly. Taxes are high, the weather is fantastic in the summer ( July and August ) but awful in the winter which runs from September to the end of June.
