There was a post I think last month or 2 ago about steering wheel pulling. I yanked a 64 impala steering wheel off my 58 biscayne when I bought it to put an og 58 on. I used a puller from O'rielly. Cost me like 12 bucks.

When you get lots of tension on it with the puller, try a hammer blow to the top of the steering shaft. Be sure to protect the threads on the end of the shaft by installing a sacrificial nut and use a soft punch.

When I was younger and stronger, I would loosen the nut, have it on with only a few threads, then rock it back and forth and pull. It would then come right off. Still had to use a puller on some, but not many.

As a kid I remember a guy down the street trying to pull his steering wheel off. He took the nut off & just started pulling on it. We had to run & get help after it broke loose & knocked him out.
