Don't mess it up - Flat black is great if you have no other choice.
Safety first and then drive and enjoy!

Ride it for a while like it is!!
Take your time to decide what you want to do, the more you ride it the more you would love it the way it is!!
Stay away from flat black!! it's paint for heaters and barbeque's!!

Don't change anything! Its perfect as it is. That coral paint screams 50s class. If you really want to redo one advertize it and someone will gladly trade you a lesser example you can modify and some conciderable boot for yours. The boot will cover your changes.

    congrats on the great car.
i bought my 55 Cad a few years ago.
my buddy Flop did a 1.5" chop on the roof.
and we put in those angled vents on the side.
Shaved the drip rails and emblems.
And reshaped the entire rear window area.
The bubble rear window is classy but i wanted a bit more attitude.

here's the before and after pictures.
NOTE - the green paint is just photoshop. its in primer right now.
but that's the new shape of the car.
(i don't think the green color is my final decision)

If you want my opinion on what direction to go?
just drive it, and spend the next year blazing through the HAMB website, go to shows, start collecting pictures of modifications & colors you like and the car will eventually come together.
If you're really itching to customize it for now,....lower it a few inches and put some metal flake on the white roof. Then drive it.

  7. Other than rechroming the rear bumper,I think you`re good to go. Drive it and dream for a while. Oh and remember to keep the windows down so you can fit your GRIN inside the car!

Meanwhile, a few towns away, John Thomas works at his second job, hoping that in a few months he will have enough set aside to give his Cadillac the Coral paint job it deserves. "No more flat black for me!" he hums to himself as he rakes out the fetid, stinking horse manure.
