Off hand, I'm thinking dare to be different ....
How about a grill from a mid-50's Holden FJ?

My buddy's dad had a Marina blue 40 Plymouth 3-window.
It was a 70's hotrod with the big and littles on slotted mags. Pretty cool, it kind of reminded me of the 60's g***ers
Don't remember for sure what was in it for an engine, but it might have been a Buick Wildcat

A 46 Doge could be cool.
If it were mine, I would chop it along the lines of Snooky Janich's 41 Ford; give it a Holden FJ grill (including the top part of the grill shell to flow with the shape of the hood) with 49 Ford parking lights;and tail lights either from a 56 Plymouth or 47 Chevy ... or possibly a set of Harley "tombstone" lights which compliment the shape of the grill shell

Under the hood ... Mopower to ya' ;)
Maybe a 340 or an early hemi
