What size and length of steering column works best in a 1951 Ford F1 with a floor shift application?

I wanted to add that this truck belonged to my Dad, and I would really appreciate it if someone who knows would answer my question. Thanks in advance...

What's wrong with the stock one? They usually fit pretty well.

The stock one has a column shift, and as you know, they have the 1/2" or so shaft that runs parallel to the column. I just purchased a Mustang II IFS, and I thought since I want to really do the interior up as nice as my budget allows, a column would be the way to go. One that has tilt, etc.
thanks for your post very much...

look for something about 30 inches long and 1 3/4 dia.
are you wanting a factory column or aftermarket?

Thanks for your reply. Since I'm going to get rid of the three on the tree, and set up it for a T-5 ****** and floor shifter, I thought an aftermarket column in chrome would be the way to go. Especially since my stock column is so freaking ugly. Considering I'm installing a Helix Mustang II IFS; in addition to the IFS kit itself, the column, a powersteering pump w/hoses, and the steering ujoint and vibration dampener, what else will I need to buy to get through this portion of the build? Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Greg

Still need a column drop(length and opening size for steering shaft) and a lower mount at the firewall.

I should have thought of those parts, and thank you for pointing them out to me. I'll post a picture after this job is finished. Also, thanks for telling me about the diameter needing to be 1 3/4" because I was looking at a column that was 2", and I think that would have looked too big in such a small cab like a 51 F1 has. I'm realy pumped about this project as my Dad bought the truck new about 9 years before I was born, and I can remember riding in it until around 1967. It' will look and ride a lot better than it ever did back in the day, but I think he would like it if he were still here. Thanks again

With all due respect, you're the one doing the custom install with power steering, steering u-joint, and some sort of integrated vibration damper into the column itself. So it seems to me that you're holding way more info than we ever could regarding what will size/length column work best.

    Stop.

The Helix components are made of inferior materials, overseas. They are a product of The Hoffman Group. Search for information here, and on the web.

You will quickly see that this is NOT a company that you want to buy ANYTHING from.
