My wife wants a carcover for her Shoebox Ford.....that I can shop for!

  4. I have purchased car parts for the wife for her B day before and she was happy, I always try to do somethng else as well.

One year I got here a rare intake for a MoPar I was building for her I picked it up from an older friend. He asked me again when I picked it up what it was for and I told him that it was for her B-day. He called a florist on the spot, then told me where to go to pick up the flowers, handed me 25 bucks and said that I would still be 3 bucks short. Good friend.

  5. A true friend indeed!I ordered seats for my wifes old jeep we are working on next to my Av8 project.

I once bought a set of 7.00 x 15 off road tires for Valentines day! The girlfriend had a '61 Scout, and had wanted them for months...

I bought my wife an anvil and throatless shear a couple of years ago, she was way happier with that gift than even I could imagine. She was happy when I picked up a new Plasma Cutter a year or so ago. We looked at a used Miller 210 yesterday and she will use it more than me. Do I just live right or what?

I tried that with a girlfriend years ago. I got nothing but grief.
She soon became an ex-girlfriend :D

  13. Ned send me a list I have seen Vespa parts for sale reasonable over the years maybe I can help. I am not afraid to ship to you.

I should say that it so hould be taken under advisement that my wife and I have been building cars and bikes together since our first date, we have been friends since before our daughter was born she is 40 this year. We were separated for over 20 years and she was still my best friend in all the world.

It may not be advisable to a lot of fellas to get the missus car parts unless you have a backup plan.

Some of you guys aren't going to believe this, but one Christmas, a long time ago, I bought my wife new blades for her mower. We were a bit pressed for cash and she'd worn the old ones out over the years.
    Yes, you read that right.
She laughed and laughed and I got over the bruises in a few weeks (nah, just joking) - I got her something else as well, but the mower blades is true.
I've scored much admiration from friends over the years on how I got away with that many people don't believe it until the love of my life confirms it.
I know its only slightly related to the topic, but I'm just so proud of myself for that one, I figured I had to share.
    Hahaha.

I wish my wife could be happy with car parts. When I find a cool project the first thing out of her mouth is "does it run?"

    And great story, dad-bud.

I'm one of those lucky guys who married a woman who grew up around cars. I try to throw in jewelry every now and then, but parts and accessories for her car always make her happy. Once, I bought her a shift knob for MY car. Best $8 I ever spent.

Bravo you are a lucky man !

  23. This one made me laugh. ;)

I was into cars before I met my wife and she is all for it. The only car part I've bought for her was a battery for her daily driver (before we were married). She was broke and the car was stuck at work in 12"+ of snow during a snow storm a couple of days before Christmas. In her eyes, at the time it was as good as diamonds.
