This Car was bought a few years back out of California and we have been trying to locate some history on it. The car was built in the same manner that the Larry Shinoda Chopstick special as far as the frame set up. the fabrication that was done was done well. and plenty of lighten holes were drilled out in the cross members. the engine was set back pretty far the motor mounts are at the firewall edge. A beautifully chop on the car and well done, the car is great shape for a dragster and hopefully we will be able to restore it to it race condition when we find it. Just though that the car was pretty cool the pictures are not the best but it is good to see how these cars are found and how they were constructed. Rex
Yup it's a 36 I like the car and Im not to fond of a chopped 5 window but for some reason I like this one
That Photo was taken at Gene Scotts on garvey ave in Rosemead Ca. Last info I had the car was in a private collection in Nevada
I wonder if this is the old Millwinders fuel coupe, ran in the early-mid '50s with Jack Ewell's Ardun...made the cover of HRM back then racing the Drifter's unchopped '36...I think it had vented rear fenders like this one...I have no idea what happened to it, but the chop is similar to this one........any one else?
Thanks for info on where the one shot is from Gene Scotts on garvey ave in Rosemead Ca. Does any one know where blank hood side would have come from back then.
One of our customers bought the car a few years back and we have been trying to track down the history of the so it can be restored. Rex
Checked the 36 Ford over and it isn't the Millwinders dragster. There are too many differences, like the hole cut in the rear fenders on the Millwinders coupe was rectangular, not oval. The top is somewhat different and other things. I think though that it was of the same era. Nes Synadinos... Millwinders
