guy's do they make a front sump oil pan for a 4.3 chevy v6? here is the issue i am at 6 degrees at carb mounting base which needs to be level and i can only drop engine 1/2" leaving me a 1/4" for centerlink clearance before oil pan is sitting on centerlink. ideas? thanks.
I supose if you wanted one bad enough, you could cut the bottom off, and weld it on facing the opposite end. Then fabricate a longer tube for the oil pickup. Maybe take one from a 250 inline. Those are long, as the pump is up front, and the sump in in the rear. Also the later ones are die cast aluminum, as far as I know. I have an 03 with the cast pan, and an 86 with a steel pan.
using what i have, if i had a toyota 22R in it would go with lots less trouble. sure wish i had a good running sbf right now
years ago when i put a sbc in a 63 chevy 2 i remember having a guy cut and weld in notch for centerlink but the dran plug is right in the way on the 4.3, does anyone know if the rear sumps are shared between the 262 v6 and 350 sbc if they do guess i could add a circle track style pan that has wider and shallow pan? any circle track guys?
that would be great if i was in wash. but i'm in Socal. the best i can do lifting the tailshaft is maybe 1-2 degrees as that was the 1st thing i checked. did get a pm about shortening the pan sump and adding the difference to the side of pan to retain oil cap. then relocating the drain plug so who sells factory style weld in drain plugs for oil pan?
