My pops and I are starting a project which has been tucked away for many years. 41 ford, convert, chopped, buick frontend, scoops, fadaways, flush skirts, possible barris unfinished, was yellow and ran a flathead in the day.
    Anyone ever seen it?

Thats just as we loaded it in the trailer....
guy we got it from knew nothing about the car. Only that its been stored for years in the Boise area.

  4. Step #3.. Review steps #1 & #2, ensure that both have been carried out successfully!!

x2 on the cool factor, wish I could help you out with some info but I don't believe I have ever seen that before.

    Doc.

P.S. I would seriously consider loosing the bonnet scoop!

Looks more like an 80's built to me... perhaps inspired by the Bill Reasoner "Thee Forty One" he did for John Conley... but then a little less subtile.

Could make a very nice custom if the essence of the style can be brought back, and all the "bling" taken off.

That car could be made to be very cool, IMO. Love the fadeaway fenders, not so nuts about the rear wheel lip treatment, but that can be eliminated. The Buick front end looks ok to me.

Car just needs the right wheels and whitewalls, and lowered (more in the back I think) and it will start telling you what to do to make it right. It needs that chrome strip like on the one Rikster posted, above the fadeaways, to break up the height of that area of the body.

    I like it. :)

was for sale here in the valley for a looooooong time. I always thought if you could reel back some of the bad that car would be really nice.

The rear wheel lip treatment is a typical 80's - 90's thing to create "flush" fit fender skirts. The skirts would sit in the recess section.

Ah, I see. I have never seen that before and thought they intended to leave it that way.

I just noticed the air vents on the sides of the front fenders. IMO those and the hood scoop would be best removed too.

^^^^ x2 ,very cool car, and in a rag, wow.

  11. TONS of potential, and can be VERY cool!

Hood is just no good though, and those Vin Diesel Fast & Furious speed holes on the front fenders, fill em and forget about it.

Otherwise should be a fun original project for you and your ol' man.

Thanks for the input. Gonna lose the lower front fender vents but going to leave all the rest pretty much just as it is. Yes, car was for sale for a while as the seller was kind of hard to deal with, in the end it was a great deal on a rust free real convert with top irons. Body is now off the frame, has a TCI front and a lincoln disc rear. Not going to use the stock dash going to section a 50 ford dash to fit. Getting ready to plumb the ch***is and drop in a 68 327/350

Never saw the Bill Reasoner one posted above, but I like it a lot. That would be a great car to model a build after.

I sure hope that turd of a hood scoop on the top of the hood meets the same fate as those lower fender vents.

Has potential.. but I think it needs to lose ALL of the scoops. Along with the obvious changes.

Cool starting point but as other have mentioned all the scoops are nothing short of terrible and should be removed.

here is a rear shot, has a two piece rear bumper. Man you guys are tough on the scoops. I didnt think the ones on the sides of the hood were all that bad.

Well the body came off, made mounts and fit the 327/turbo 350 in. Narrowed and removed the speedo hump from a 51 ford dash to fit. Set the body back on to check firewall clearance. Gonna pull the body back off, spray the frame and firewall then put the body back on....

You've made some real progress! Sure looks like this one is in good hands. Anxious to see this one done. Best of luck to you with the build.

It runs and moves....had the front end lined up, new exhaust and had a v-****ed windshield installed. Even found a usable front seat.

Does anyone know if it is the same Car? Looks like the same one with mods made later, maybe for more show points.
