Masking off to paint stripes, tape recommendations? sources online?

I am using PPG base clear and need to mask off stripes after I paint the base which is one color, then using another color for a stripe, then when dry will clear it all together.

What do you guys recommend for tape? something that won't bleed through which I have seen on some other peoples cars.

Any easy source to buy it online?

Get 3M blue fine line tape. That's what we use on our custom paint projects ,works great .

Just google "3M blue fine line tape" and pick who you want to buy it from. It is a plastic tape that comes in many different widths depending on what size stipes your working on.

 

I found it, going to have my dad pick it up at the local paint supply place..thanks!

 

Make sure you get the automotive line of tape.
There is a line for homeowners that is blue and is not for cars.

 

oh i know that for sure roger, thanks, the tape needs to be vinyl...

 

this was my first attempt using 3M blue tape.....awesome stuff!!!

 

I use a combo of blue fineline and paper tape. Always 3M , don't ever use the cheap tape .
