Just filled out my profile and this is my first post. Recently bought a 1954 Ford Crestline with a Y-block 239. I've had Chevys since high school, but this is my first Ford. So I might have some Questions. Glad to be here.

Thanks for the welcome. Got a question for ya. I'm not familiar with Y blocks, and I have an oil leak from what looks like some sort of breather down on the side of the block. Drivers side, just in front of the motor mount, about the size of a soup can. Looks like the leak is coming from where the canister meets the base. Should there be an "O: ring, or some sealer paced there? Thanks for any help. Roger

That's the down draft tube. Sounds like you need a new gasket. For future questions you should post on the main forum - you get answers more quickly. Also join the '52-'59 Ford group on here - lots of good Q & A there every day.
