Is your truck a 3 or 4 speed?

My choice would be a T5 five speed. Small, light, with a ratio for any speed you want to drive.

John Mummert will do the conversion to the bellhousing that you provide him

Or you can find a later bellhousing and use a later truck transmission. I'm not sure of all the details, but the 223 was made until 64 and it had the same bolt pattern on the block.

215's use the same trans as the flathead....as long as you have the 215 bell housing "ring", you can use a flathead/t5 adapter. 223's use a different trans setup.
You will still need to make a new trans X member, driveshaft, etc...
