I have a 56 nomad. I also have kids whom I'd like to bring with when I go to car shows. However I don't want to be stressed the entire time thinking they will spill, color, etc on my seats. Does anybody still make fingerhutt style clear seat covers ? Something I can install over my stock seats myself (no upholstery shop) and is easily removed if I wanted to.
Wouldn't be a lot easier to tell the kids, "No" ? It always worked for my dad. No food in the car. No crayons in the car. No drinks in the car. Why do people think kids can't go 5 minutes without something shoved in their gob or some sort of diversion? If it's a long trip, stop along the way and let them run around, grab a snack, take a leak or whatever.
Got em on my 56 Chevy. Grandpa had them on their for the exact reason of little grandkids. I put them back on when I redid the car because I had kids of my own then, and I remembered how we used to stick to the seats in the Kansas heat. I wanted my kids to have the same "experience"...Believe it or not, JC Whitney still has them new. We just bought some for a new project.
