Never ceases to amaze me how people come together when someone is in need of a hand And everyone says the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Guess they never met abunch of hot rodders!
Just got a movie, from Joe's wife's cell phone camera, of the truck hauling ass away from a stoplight, so I guess the starter is IN! <happy dance>
Here is the latest news - we got the starterput it in had a few hick ups but figured it out. Couple of hours later we were able to get the truck off the jack stands and send Joe on his way. He will be at the Alameda classic car show this weekend from 10-3 p.m. on Park street. Great show for anyone who wants to come out. I am glad that I was able to help faciltate the get together to complete this for Joe. It was really cool to meet people from the HAMB who really stepped up. It took a village but we all made it happen. I think Joe is really happy and will be at this years show for sure without fail because of this/our comminity.
Yeop! There were a couple of snafu's but nothing a fully charged battery couldn't fix. Great to meet you Joe! October 13 is the Alameda Park Street Classic Car Show. Be there or be...
lol, Mike. Good to meet you and Zoey as well! Here is a video of the trip home: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zjXgSwfqhXM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Thanks again to you all -- my dream has come true!
Joe....this is an awesome thread! It kind of makes me think that there might be some hope for humanity out there after all!! I wish I could have helped out....but I was driving my son's car out to Colorado....left Friday and arrived on Saturday evening....that was after spending nights on it doing a timing belt job. Good luck this weekend!! Dan
Awesome! Glad you guys got it taken care of. I know it must have felt good hittin' the go pedal! See you fellas on Saturday, looking forward it.
Took it for a little drive today; started just fine everytime! My friend Sophie said I had a smile on my face that she hasn't seen in a long time. Thanks everyone and see you Saturday!
Joe glad to hear your enjoying the truck. It was a fun day, and I had a great time I'm going to try and make it out to the show. Take care.
Thanks guys for this thead and for sharing the experience with us. I love it when a plan comes together. This is why I keep coming back to the Hamb.
I've got to say I've seen some amazing acts but this is REAL its amazing when people sometimes strangers come together for a good cause. I wish I would have been able to go I don't know much but I can wrench. I'm down to join the next posse
You guys are all awesome. Helping out a fellow Hamber! Love that '53 Ford. Now listen, I have a '31 Ford truck i'd like to get going. If any of ya are up for a road to trip to Washington.....
I just got word that we will be on the block between Lincoln and Buena Vista. It's is the block where Good Chevrolet and Morris Landy Ford once was. I have no idea which side, though. Just look for the faded red oxide primer (pink) 1953 F100 with a real patina job on it. Hope to see you there!
Ok, we will be located between Pacifica and Buena Vista in front of Starland Music. Officially, it is yellow block, space 385. See you there!
Had a great time today. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. Once I get some pics together, I'll post them. Thanks again to everyone! Joe
Perfect day over there. It was good seeing those who could make it, I may have missed a couple as I sat down at the 13 for a minute to get out of that sun.
Nice pics joe! I am happy that I was able to help you get your truck to the show. It was a cool experience and met some cool guys along the way. Enjoy the ride . Joe
Nice award...sorry I couldn't make either the wrench fest or the show, but I am happy to see it up & running...Sean & Steve gave me a full report on Friday when I saw them both. Cool support shirt too
Good seeing you Joe! Congratulations on the award. I was surprised how sunny and warm it was in Alameda. That's one angry looking baby
Kudos to all you guys able to help. Levi is a good one, one of our local Owl Hoots. Joe taking off from that light looked like me! (but my '55's black prime) Glad it all came together! Bless you guys
