    Hey Gang
I really love the look of the Ford wide 5's and am considering running them on my newly acquired 32 3-window. Car was built in the early 70's and needs some love badly. I want to bring back to more traditional route. Everybody runs the 40's steelies. I just think it would look different wearing wide 5's. Anybody out there have pictures of a Deuce wearing wide 5's????

  3. I approve! Just one issue is making sure those drums are on juice brakes.

  4. SWEET RPU!
And the setting for the pic is great too!

  12. I'm not but I don't own a deuce, I do have or will have some wide 5 stuff that you can get from me though, I am pulling the wide 5s from my '38 in favor of 12" Buick brakes on all 4 corners. So when you are ready to leap if you don't already have what you need give me a shout.

I think it would be pretty smooth with wide 5s on all 4 corners.

One thing for sure, they do need hubcaps.

  14. I kind of like the look without. What would be cool is to use early floater/roundy round hubs. Pretty hard to come by but it would sure look cool.

Hmmmmn maybe I'll keep my wide 5s after all. :)

I too like the wide five look and went to some measures to keep my 37 Cabriolet as "Hot Rod" as I could. Because I built it to drive, I used the trusty 8 inch but did some magic to run the widened wide fives with big 16" radials.
Just for look-see the pictures are in the late stages of completion. Bored and stroked early Caddy with Isky roller, trips, Mallory, T-5 five speed and of course a chrome generator. Football Sun tach, signals controlled by the throttle knob with the indicator using fiber optics in the "O" on the choke knob. Sure, I'm proud.

I dig the wide 5s. My next project will have them. I say go for it!

I disagree. They look great on their own.

Here is a nice wide 5 wheeled roadster. On the hubcap issue, I like them with and without, it depends on the ride.

Here are some rocky mountain drums that will go on my T build, I have rears too, they are a one year only, 36 so they are for mech. brakes. However they could be converted to juice with some work.

On another note, anyone used the Lincoln brake conversion? Big improvement?

What years did Ford use wide 5's. I have a trailer made up from a stock front axle with wide 5's and I want to get a spare wheel. :)
