Long Story Short Old school friend of mine and returned Naval Gulf vet came off his bike recently and broke his ankle. 10 days after returning home he suffered a stroke and lost use of 1 side of his body, then to make matters worse a blood clot travelled to his heart. His lovely wife is due to give birth to their 3rd child and at 42 he is now in for a long road to recovery and rehabilitation. I phoned Rocco and he managed to translate my Aussie slang without too much difficulty and organised a few things to be auctioned off to help towards funding his recovery. Jesse promptly jumped in to help by personally signing each item. Seriously? It's freaking awesome and shows genuine humility. Definitely no ego's there .......just guys with big hearts and helping hands. So I thank both Jesse and Rocco for making this happen so quickly and with no BS. So yup..... I will be purchasing everyone *** hats and merchandise for birthdays and Christmas. Oh and Rocco suggested I use HAMB cl***ifieds to find some parts for my Merc. Big kisses ********x Radgirl
I love a great story with a happy ending! Good for you and big respect to all who help during those trying times. As I was reading the thread topics this afternoon I saw this one and after reading it, I realized no one had posted on it, ???.... You go girl! And the best to your friends.
after years of riding and hot rodding, there's no doubt that bikers and hot rodders are the most generous with either their time or money or both!! kudos to all involved.
the guys down at Austin speed shop are A+ in my book. they have always been nice to me when i talk to them
Radgirl ...... that's awesome that Rocco and Jesse did that. And it's great that your doing something to help your friend. I agree with Autobodyed, there's no better people than Hotrodders or Bikers. I wish your friend a very speedy recovery.
I hope this thread doesn't turn into a forum for some to bash JJ, what he did for your friend was very big of him. I think he is maturing and starting to view life differently these days, and I have a newfound respect from what I have been seeing lately. Every man deserves a second chance. It is nice to see a positive thread and the guys at *** did a very nice thing here. Don
thats way cool. theres a thread right now about this guy who has some time to kill in Austin Texas, I recomend him going to Austin Speed Shop and check it out, send back some pictures see what those guys are working on. Ive never been there, but its on my too do list. Good luck to your friend and his family.
....and a lot of people talk **** about Jesse. Never met the guy personally but seems genuine. When I do meet him I will personally thank him for you. And this Rocco guy.... Does he hang out with Bob? That Bob dude is bad news......
Cudos to you radgirl and the crew at ***...heres to a good and speedy recovery for your friend, and a blessed newborn too!!!
I kinda thought I would post it just to remind some HAMBers it doesn't always pay to be an ***hole and show that he's a nice guy....... Most of the time :-/ . And Rocco well Kudos to him for understanding my Aussie talk with a tantrum chucking 4 year old in the back ground on an overseas line and getting them signed and shipped within 2 days. So any HAMBers need work done to their cars or some cool stuff to buy I recommend Austin Speed Shop and Rocco. I got the DVD's earlier this year and I can recommend them. Very similar style to Metal Church. Pretty cool of you want to learn some stuff I will admit I picked up a couple of tips.... Like using Broaches. Anyway after reading all the **** everyone gives I'm sure he isn't always a turd. But hey what would I know.
Thanks for Well Wishes....I believe he will make it through this. They breed 'em pretty tough where I come from
OK I take back everything I ever said about JJ. I sure hope your friends luck turns around soon. Good on ya for helping out.
