Looks like some one did a awesome light weight drill process on your stock axle... Saved enough weight to enjoy an extra burger on your next outing!

Probably pilot holes for larger holes that never got drilled.

Just some overly cautious rodder who wanted lightning holes but didn't want to weaken the axle too much by drilling bigger ones. That, or he found out how expensive a one inch drill bit costs.:D

  8. That is a highly researched process for aero relief.

  9. It was the biggest drill but they had.

No, No, No, I just figures it out it is the very early beginings of patina, eventually those pin holes will rust into big holes. :D:D:D

It is just a stiock axle with very small lightening holes. They will make good pilots for the bigger holes that you will eventually drill.

That's a good one. I've only seen small holes like that as step one in doing a "real" drilled axle, never installed on a car.

Plays a very nice tune running down the road at 35 miles per hour?
It,s the very early "fluted" MorDrop axle...

  12. I have actually seen cars that way even feature cars in old magazines. I never could get it but evidently the owner did.

Somewhere I even have a picture of an old salter with teeny tiny holes in the axle.
