Are the cabs the same on the big ol'farm trucks as they are on street versions? Like, the 1 1/2 tons? I found a late 30's early 40's Dodge farm truck in a barn nearby, and after looking at it, it appears the only reason it looks bigger to me than a normal street version is the lifted suspension, huge old farmer waist-high tires/wheels, and the big flatbead on the back... the cab looks normal. Am I right?

Fenders are wider too? Just curious, I love the cab, it's in great shape, but didn't want to have something "oversized"... know what I mean? And I was tapemeasure-free at the time.

Is Pic1 cab same as Pic2 ???

Oh, and pic1 isn't the one I have spotted... it's even better looking than that! And with original hand-lettering on the side, some "beverage" company! How friggin' cool is that? Still running the flat6 too... drool drool.

I always wanted to make a camper out of one, maybe fab an Airstream onto the back... I gotta stop this ****. I'm already on wife #4... how many more am I gonna find to put up with this ****???

    SAME.

My '40 chevy cab is off a 1.5 ton truck. The difference body wise is the fenders.

The nice thing out the big truck cabs, is thta rarely do they have the rocker or cab corner rust.

I have a '40 GMC and they are the same as the Chevy and the 1 1/2 ton just has fatter fenders.
A COE might have different interior room due to floor and firewall changes.
In '41 Chevy and GMC bumped the firewall out 2" into the engine compartment on the cab giving it 2" more much needed leg room, but it infringes on V8 space!

I think anything that was DESIGNED before WW-II is probably the same size cab across the weight range.
And GM trucks probably are the worst for leg room

The fords are the same. The one I just posted up is from a 1 1/2 ton farm truck.

Dodge used the same cabs on pickups as they did on any of the big boys, at least through the mid 60s. Have noticed that some of the big (over 1 1/2 ton) Dodge trucks used cabs from the year before in a year of a body style change over. For instance, in 54 the 1/2 & 3/4 ton pickups got a one piece windshield, but a 1 1/2 or bigger did not get the one piece windshield until the 55 model year. A 54 1 1/2 ton truck would have a 53 cab. Probably a way to use up the old body style cabs... Gene

The 11/2 ton early 30 dodges have virtually the same cabs . The half ton has a driveshaft cutout in the back of the cab. the big boys do not. They are the same size otherwise.
