Hello all. I am looking for a good replacement gas tank for my 1956 Belair 9-p***enger wagon, as mine is leaking. I know this to be a unique tank to this 9-p***enger model but dont know what other GM model years might work. Anyone have any source or ideas?
Thank so much in advance and have a great day.

Think it's 5 & 6 only 7 might work if the vent tube is blocked.

At this point in time, it is worth having it fixed. Find a shop that can properly repair it.

Oh man, those things are harder to find than a 32 Ford rusting away. Been looking for about 5 years now. I found one but the guy would only sell it with the whole car and I just couldn't spend $1200 for a gas tank. Pontiacs of 55 and 56 are the same from the cowl back so they'd have the same tank. I'm just going to have to do some metal fab and fix the one I have. Good luck!

Hey there - Love those cars, but I've sold the ones I have because they just take up too much room...(3rd seat cushions do too but I can't let go of the extra one I have of those!).

I have a couple of suggestions and maybe I can save you some wheel spinning (been down the same road and they are rare when you need to find one)...

~I bet yours is a good candidate to fix. Your car was not rusty.
Why not look into that option first with a good radiator shop or something?
Another used one might have pinholes!

~If you happen across a lucky junkyard find:
    ~1956 210 OR Bel Air (9-p***) & 1957 210 (9 p***)...same gas tank.

~PONTIAC (9-P***) FFOM 1956-57 IS NOT THE SAME.
Tire well on Pontiacs makes it a different shape.

~$250 is the most I have ever seen one for sale for, unrestored - but I have seen one in the last few mohts on _bay for way under $200..

~If you have to buy one, Try John Chambers Vintage Chevrolet in Phoenix, AZ.
I know he has had some 9-p*** parts at times.
