I recently purchased a 55 customline that sat for a year or so. I pulled the gas tank and cleaned it out with muriatic acid and that looks good now. I'm new to restoring cars and have only minimal mechanical skills so details are appreciated. I need to flush the rest of the fuel system and I don't know how to go about that. Thanks in advance everyone!

I would blow the line front to back with carb cleaner and compressed air. The fitting the goes in to the tank is a restriction. The screen on the pickup is always suspect too.

if it only sat for a year i would have filled up, and never thought a thing about it. yes gas goes bad quickly, but pulling the tank that might be a tad bit of overkill if it was a breathing running car

The car sat for a year with a full tank of gas. I couldn't get the car to stay running so I figured I would drain the tank which once I saw the chunks of rust coming out led to the tank being pulled. Can I just disconnect the line from the carb and blow everything back from there or is there a better place to start?
